Empowering Women, Strengthening Communities

We are a grassroots, community led organisation dedicated to supporting and empowering women across North East Lincolnshire. Our mission is to create dedicated safe spaces where women can connect, heal, and thrive, whilst actively working to transform existing public and community spaces to be safer, more inclusive, and welcoming for every woman in our locality. Through direct action, shared solidarity, and wrap around support, we are building a stronger, safer community from the ground up.

The Cove is a welcoming, safe space for women to come for a cuppa and, if they wish, receive general support and signposting for all of life’s stressors. Following these exact same principles, The Cove After Dark is our dedicated monthly evening session. It offers a relaxed, supervised night-time sanctuary where women can try something new in complete safety; whether that’s getting creative with Lego building, unwinding with mindfulness and meditation, or simply connecting with a supportive community of women.

Issues we can provide general support and signposting for include:

Straightening Your Crown

Initially funded by ward funding, our Straightening Your Crown initiative offers a flexible, welcoming beauty and empowerment drop in format. Run in partnership with Grimsby Institute Level 2 and 3 students twice a year, these popular sessions pop up in various venues across North East Lincolnshire. It is a safe, uplifting space for local women to focus on self-care, build confidence, and enjoy a well deserved pamper session among friends.

Taking The Helm

Funded by the Evan Cornish Grassroots Fund, our Taking the Helm workshops – delivered as part of the recent Festival of the Sea – were a massive success! Led by friendly facilitators, these hands on family cookery sessions brought the community together to make delicious dishes like fishcakes and fish tacos. While these specific workshops were a special project milestone, they beautifully highlight our commitment to helping local women and families build confidence, share skills, and connect through food.

Transforming & Creating Safe Spaces

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to women’s safety. We focus on establishing and transforming physical environments into dedicated, single-sex safe spaces specifically for biological women. Whether it is developing local hubs or hosting structured drop-ins, we ensure women have secure, welcoming environments where they can find solidarity, rest, and community without compromise.

Advocacy & Community Awareness

True grassroots support means taking direct action and making women’s voices heard. We work across North East Lincolnshire to raise awareness of the unique challenges women face, advocating for better local support and safer communities. We believe in on-the-ground action, building genuine connections, and ensuring that women are both seen and supported.
